1008 Lingam Temple is located in Ariyanoor, which is a suburb of Salem city on a hillock near Kunjmaala. The temple is managed by a separate dept. of Vinayaka Mission. The temple was constructed in 2010. The temple has 1007 lingams which surrounds the main shiv temple, which has the 1008th lingam with the holy cow Nandi’s statue in front. For visiting the temple, you have to go on Sangagiri to Salem highway, just after crossing the institutions of Vinayaka Mission. When you cross the gate of Temple, you can see an enormous statue of Ganesha at the foothills. The security guard is very helpful and guides you to the road you have to take for going on the top.

A temple in the memory of Kalangi Nathar is located at the foothills. Locals call him Lord Siddheswara or Sidddar Koil and hence the name Siddheswarar Temple. Kanjamalai Hills is located 14 km away in the western region of Salem. The place is also known for various herbs with potential of miraculous cures.

Temple Skandasramam, located in serene surroundings amidst hillocks, two kilometres away from Udayapatti of Salem Town, is a temple complex with shrines to Skanda and to other deities. This lies in Salem-Attur route. In the Maha Mandapam, one can see Shri Ashta Dasapuja Mahalakshmi Durga Parameswari, who is also known as Skandamatha and opposite to Durga, there stands the grand, attractive, and smilling statue by name Gnanaskandan (Bala Dandayudha Pani). Both are in standing posture. Besides these nine points on the top of the Linga form, it is predicted as the adobe of Ganga, in between the 3rd and 5th point there is Gomuki. On the right and left side of Ganga there are moon and sun respectively. In the eastern side of the temple, there runs Kannimar Odai (stream). As it flows towards north, it is also known as Utharavahini. By the side of the stream there is the goddess Kannimar Amman.
